Deer Valley Elementary hosts a fashion show

The Student Council of Deer Valley Elementary School presented the “Think Pink” fashion show benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation in November. The participants selected their own attire featuring the color pink.  The event was emceed by Roxanne of WDJC.  

The show kicked off with Lauren Boyd, Kailey Dowling, Carli Evans, Anna Belle Kemp, Macey Schrock, and Betsey Sutterlin singing “Think Pink.”  The fashion show featured a variety of outfits including dresses, knit outfits, casual outfits, and sports attire.

 At the end of the fashion show, breast cancer survivors were presented with pink roses.  Jan Curtis, a teacher at Deer Valley who is currently battling breast cancer, was honored in a slide show highlighting her courageous fight.  Alexandra Imaghodoor from the Susan G. Komen Foundation received a check from representatives from the Student Council as well as from Dr. Wayne Richardson and Ami Weems. More than $1500 was raised from this event.
