The Birmingham Pen Women seek new members

The National League of American Pen Women began a new season in October and will continue to hold monthly meetings at The Club. One highlight of its overall programs is the Birmingham Pen Women’s annual art show, which will be held again at the Soon Bok Lee Sellers Gallery located at Artists on the Bluff in Hoover. Twenty area women artists will be included in the juried exhibit which will run in February. This year’s juror will be Nelson Grice, Hoover artist and instructor.

The Pen Women is a national organization of professional writers, artists, and musicians. It was first organized in 1897 as the League of American Pen Women and in 1926 added the word “national.” It affords its members an overview of the arts.

The Birmingham Branch of Pen Women is currently seeking new members.  For more information, email Mary Lembke at lembkefamily@charter.net or call 910-8936. For more about Pen Women, visit nlapw.org
