Recreation Center pool to reopen Friday

After extensive repair work, the Hoover Recreation Center pool will reopen to the public on Friday, June 26. City Parks and Recreation Director Craig Moss described the project as a “total renovation of the whole pool.”

Visitors will find that the pool is almost entirely new from top to bottom, including a new deck, plaster and tiling, gutters and structural work. Swimmers can also enjoy replaced starting blocks and diving boards.

On Monday, June 22, the pool underwent its final inspection to ensure its safety. 

The Hoover Recreation Center is located at 600 Municipal Drive and is open 5 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 5 a.m.-9 p.m. on Fridays, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturdays and 1-6 p.m. on Sundays.
