McCurdy - Strickler

Mr. and Mrs. George Russell McCurdy Jr. of Montgomery announce the engagement of their daughter, Carrie Redding, to Howard Martin Strickler Jr., son of Dr. and Mrs. Howard Martin Strickler of Hoover.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Voncille Redding and the late Joseph Albert Redding III of Montgonery and Mr. and Mrs. George Russell McCurdy of Montgomery.

Ms. McCurdy is a 2007 graduate of Saint James School and graduated from The University of Alabama, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She currently resides in Birmingham and is employed by Murfee Meadows Inc.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Otis Hunter of Houston, Ala., and the late Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Strickler of Berea, Ky.

Mr. Strickler is a 2007 graduate of Spain Park High School and graduated from The University of Alabama, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and marketing. He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Alabama.

The wedding will be held on Aug. 3 at First United Methodist Church in Montgomery with a reception to follow at Wynlakes Country Club.
