Kitchings-Sweeney

Mr. and Mrs. William J. Kitchings Jr. of Hoover announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelsey Elyse Kitchings, to Devon Tyler Sweeney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Zatkyo of Berlin, N.J.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Marion Camp of Huntsville, the late H. Nelson Camp of Huntsville, Mr. William Kitchings of Hoover and Ms. Jerrie Kitchings of Hoover. She is a 2008 graduate of Hoover High School and a 2012 summa cum laude graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in education. While at  Mississippi State, she was a member of the soccer team. She is currently a sixth grade math teacher at Olive Branch Middle School in Olive Branch, Miss.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Ruth Hetrick of Bromall, Pa.,

Mrs. Jimmie Hetrick and the late Harry Hetrick of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Mr. Paul Sweeney and the late Mrs. Audrey Sweeney of Egg Harbor Township, N.J. He is a 2008 graduate of Winslow Township High School and a 2012 cum laude graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing. He is currently employed as a financial analyst with International Paper in Germantown, Tenn.

The wedding is scheduled for Oct. 12 at Mathews Manor in Springville, Ala.
