Hoover goes teal for GYN/Ovarian Cancer Awareness

by

As you probably noticed in the month of September, the City of Hoover was lit in teal for the entire month for GYN/Ovarian Cancer Awareness. “A State of Teal” was designed to raise awareness of gynecological cancers and the impact of these cancers on Alabamians. Please take time to visit their website at AStateOfTeal.org for more information.

In October, we have one of our most popular events of the year. It’s the Hoover Hayride and Family Night at Veterans Park and is held on Friday, October 24 from 5-8 p.m. Bring your little ones in their Halloween costumes and they can trick or treat and enjoy a hayride in a safe environment. The entire event is open to the public and free.

With Veterans Day just around the corner, we want to take this opportunity to thank all the men and women that serve or have served in our military. The City holds a weeklong celebration in honor of Veterans Day every year with activities planned throughout the week. Our celebration will kick off at our opening reception held on Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. at the Hoover Library Plaza. Please be sure and plan to join us on Sunday afternoon. Visit our website at hooveralabama.gov for a complete list of our activities for Veterans week.

We want to exceed your expectations in every way with all we do.  Please contact our office if we can be of assistance to you.

Sincerely,

Gary Ivey

Mayor
