Whole Foods prepares to begin construction

Hoover shoppers will soon see signs of construction on the Whole Foods store in Riverchase Village.

Riverchase Village is represented by Southpace Properties. David Ashford, the director of Southpace’s retail division, said the planning process has delayed construction. However, plans will be finalized by the end of the month, and Ashford said Whole Foods will get its necessary permits in the next 30 days.

Whole Foods announced its Hoover location in November 2014. It will be leasing 50,000 square feet in the Lorna Road shopping center, which is also working on a larger redevelopment plan.
