Voting starts for public to help choose new Hoover sports complex name

Voting opened Tuesday for the public to help select the name for the new sports complex being built at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.

Here is the direct link to the survey being conducted by a committee authorized by Hoover Council President Jack Wright.

The committee is asking the public to help select a name for the overall complex that includes includes Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, the Hoover RV Park, a new 155,000-square foot indoor event center, five NCAA regulation-size soccer/football/lacrosse fields, five NCAA regulation-size baseball (or softball) fields, 16 tennis courts with a pro shop, a 2-mile walking track, playground, splash pad and large event lawn.

The committee also is asking people to vote on a name for the indoor event center, which is being built to accommodate 11 regulation-size basketball courts or 17 regulation-size volleyball courts, trade shows with 300 booths, 2,400-seat banquets and theater-style seating for 5,000 people. The facility also will include a walking track, performance center, food court, convenience store, locker rooms, meeting space and a climbing attraction.

Officials are asking the public to vote on the following four names for the indoor facility:
