Two more Hoover School Board applicants apply for City Council appointment

Two new applicants - stay-at-home mother Scarlett Naftel and retired Army Maj. Ronald F. Bradstreet - applied today for an opening on the Hoover Board of Education.

They join two other applicants who applied last week- Curt Posey who works at Children's Hospital and Jill Ganus Veitch, a deputy district attorney with the Tuscaloosa District Attorney's Office. The Hoover City Council is accepting applications through 5 p.m. March 26.  

Naftel, who has lived in Hoover nearly nine years, lives on Napier Drive and has a 7 year-old child at Green Valley Elementary School. She is a former program manager at UAB who became a stay-at-home mother in September 2007 after having her child.

Bradstreet is a retired Army major who entered the military at age 21 in 1967 and served two tours of duty in Vietnam before being honorably discharged in 1971. He serves as a substitute teacher in the Hoover School system. Bradstreet graduated from a high school in Daytona Beach, Florida. He spent 13 years teaching JROTC at Ramsay High School until retiring in January 2014.
