Two more applications arrive for Hoover School Board
Two new applicants, Dr. Stephanie Turner and Dennis Quirk, applied today for an opening on the Hoover Board of Education.
Dennis Quirk lives on Ross Avenue and has lived in Hoover for two and a half years. He has three children in Hoover City Schools. Two attend Deer Valley Elementary School and one attends Brock Gap Elementary. He graduated in 1977 from Carnegie-Mellon University. He is a board member of the Hoover Softball Associaton and a library volunteer at Deer Valley. He was formerly employed by the United States Steel Corporation and is currently retired.
Dr. Stephanie Turner lives on Park Avenue and has lived in Hoover for three years. She has four children in Hoover City Schools. One attends Hoover High School, one attends Simmons Middle School and two attend Bluff Park Elementary. She graduated from UAB in 1995 with a degree in nursing. She is currently an assistant professor at the University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing.
Quirk and Turner join four other applicants: Curt Posey, Jill Ganus Veitch, Scarlett Naftel and retired Army Maj. Ronald F. Bradstreet. The Hoover City Council is accepting applications through 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 26.
