Suspects in last month’s Jet Pep robbery captured

Hoover Police captured both suspects in last month’s robbery of a Jet Pep off of Montgomery Highway.

Bessemer residents Paul Antonio Williams, 23, and Xavier Jamaal Brantley, 20, were each charged with two counts of first degree robbery.

Detectives identified the suspects and obtained arrest warrants on July 7.

Williams was arrested by Hoover Detectives and U.S. Marshals July 10 at 12:05 p.m. He was taken into custody in the 7500 block of 65th Court Way South in Birmingham and remains at the Jefferson County Jail.

Brantley was arrested July 14 at 11 a.m. He was apprehended by Hoover officers and U.S. Marshals in the 5200 block of Molton Gray Drive. He was found hiding in a closet and is being held in Hoover City Jail.

The Jet Pep robbery occurred on June 27 at 6:30 p.m. The two armed suspects entered the store and took cash from a customer and the store clerk. Surveillance photos were later distributed to the public.
