In a motivational pep talk to the Hoover School District’s nearly 1,900 employees prior to the 2015-16 school, Murphy challenged employees  to not be satisfied at being one of the state’s top school systems.

Hoover City Schools deserve a top ranking, and we will continue to support school personnel and promote the Hoover standard of excellence. Since healthy competition is productive ... look out Homewood City Schools. “

A recent report found that Hoover has the most nationally certified teachers in Alabama.

Hoover City Schools received a grade of "A Plus" in Overall Experience, Administration Policy and Health and Safety, and an "A" in Resources and Facilities.
