Santa coming to your street with help from Hoover Fire

The Hoover Fire Department will be escorting Santa and his helpers around the city on Christmas Eve.  This has been a long-standing tradition of the fire department for at least 15 years. He will be escorted around the city from 4-9 p.m. trying to reach as many areas as possible.

If there is inclement weather, Santa will be at each fire station from 5 to 7 p.m.  All fire engines with Santa are on duty and may have to deviate from Santa duties to respond to emergencies. They will resume as soon as possible.

The department is designing a web page that will be interactive with GPS locations of Santa so residents can see how close he is to their house. This is a work in progress, and can be checked at hooverfiredepartment.org for updates. The page should be complete in the first few weeks of December and will also contain provisional schedules for when Santa should reach a particular neighborhood or street.
