The Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa in Hoover is hosting a cocktail reception to unveil Alabama artist Nall Hollis' mosaic, "Sunset Pansy."

The reception begins at 5 p.m. at Ross Bridge, 4000 Grand Ave. Nall will be present for the unveiling.

While visiting the hotel, guests are welcome to look at other exhibits from the Alabama Artists Collection, curated by Nall, and to check out restaurants and other features of the hotel, Ross Bridge General Manager Rick Smith said.

Nall is an artist native to Alabama who has exhibited his Alabama Art Collection in Europe and across the nation. The works hanging in the hotels range from primitive and Outsider Art, drawings, intricate mosaics, oils, and photography. Nall has long supported an art renaissance in Alabama in an effort to explore the state's artistic excellence.

He actively promotes Alabama artists, has been awarded the University of Alabama Image Award and spearheaded the relationship between Montgomery and Pietrasanta, Italy, where his monumental bronze sculpture, "Peace Frame" was donated and installed as the gateway to the city.  Michelangelo produced many of his most famous works there.

Prince Albert II of Monaco has said "Nall has been such a fine cultural ambassador for his native land with the Alabama Art Exhibit." His book "Alabama Art," won the Mary Ellen Lopresti Award for "Excellence in Art Publishing", with an introduction and preface written by Alabama authors Fannie Flagg and Rick Bragg.
