Police search for Shell gas station robbery suspects

On June 9 , at approximately 8:20 p.m., two unknown black males robbed the Shell Sunny Food Mart at the corner of John Hawkins Parkway and Merchants Drive. Suspect 1 was wearing a blue do-rag and blue bandana covering his face and head. He was armed with a handgun. He also has a distinct tattoo on the inside of his right forearm that appears to spell “money”. Suspect 2 had a white shirt wrapped around his face and head to conceal his identity. He stole the cash drawer before the two ran to the front parking lot. They fled eastbound on John Hawkins Parkway in a newer model Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra crew cab pickup. The truck was black with a silver tool box and appeared to have other occupants waiting inside. A possible partial tag number is “63BF2”

Just prior to the robbery a customer entered the store wearing a blue “LEVI’S” t-shirt. This individual did not make a purchase and may have been casing the business. It is unknown if he was with the suspects or may be a possible witness.  Anyone with any information about this case or recognizes anyone in the attached photos should contact Detective Daniel Lowe at 739-6762.  If you wish to remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward you may contact Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama at 254-7777.
