Hoover police released the sketch of a suspect potentially connected to two robberies this week.

The suspect is a thin, black male in his 20s between 5-foot-9 and 6-foot-1. He was armed with a black and silver semi-automatic handgun in both robberies.

On Thursday, Nov. 19, around 9 p.m., officers responded to a robbery at The Place at Galleria apartments on Lorna Road. Three men had been robbed while they were doing construction work inside a vacant apartment. The suspect approached the victims with a handgun and stole wallets and cell phones from all three of them. One of the victims was struck in the head with the handgun and required treatment on scene.

On Tuesday, Nov. 17, around 9:15 p.m., a similar robbery occurred in the same complex. A male victim was on his patio when a black male with a handgun approached him. The suspect forced his way into the apartment and robbed three people of their wallets and cell phones.

The suspect appears to be targeting Hispanic victims, according to police.

Police report the suspect frequents Lorna Road and possibly Lorna Road Apartments. He may also have ties to the Gate City area of Birmingham.

Anyone with information in this case can call Detective Todd Henningsen at 444-7534 or the Hoover Police Department at 822-5300.
