Hoover patrol officers responded to an activated burglary alarm at a Fox Hollow Lane residence Wednesday at 10:38 a.m.

While an officer was checking the house for evidence of the intruder, he found a male subject hiding in the basement. The suspect, later identified as Dillon Scott Preisendorfer, was immediately taken into custody.

After further inspection, officers found the bedroom drawers had been rummaged through, and the alarm panel and speaker were damaged. Police found stolen jewelry and pieces of the alarm box on the suspect.

Detectives obtained warrants for Prisendorfer today on the charges of burglary third degree, theft of property second degree and obstructing justice using a false identity. Total bond is $30,000.

Prisendorfer was transferred from Hoover City Jail to Jefferson County Jail earlier today.
