Police arrested a FedEx delivery driver Thursday morning for the theft of a computer last month. On Jan. 19 a laptop packaged for shipment was stolen from a FedEx drop box located at 31 Inverness Center Parkway.

The victim had LoJack security and tracking software installed on the device. Employees at LoJack have worked with detectives, providing information that lead to the identity of the individual using the stolen computer. Screenshots of the suspect’s Facebook profile were obtained and sent to detectives. Additional screenshots were captured of the suspect updating his home address and phone number on his iTunes account.

It was then determined that the suspect using the stolen laptop was a delivery driver for FedEx. On Feb.11, an arrest warrant was issued at the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office. The suspect is charged as follows:

Brian David Brown, 26, Birmingham

Hoover officers arrested Brown at 6:30 Thursday morning as he arrived for work at 4900 Alton Court in Irondale. He was transported to the Hoover City Jail and has since been transferred to the Shelby County Jail. The stolen computer has been recovered.
