Alabama’s first Pie Five location is opening Friday, Feb. 20, at 4741 Chace Landing Circle, Suite 114.

Pie Five is a pizza chain based out of Dallas, Texas. The pizzeria offers made-to-order pizzas for a standard price and guarantees they will cook in five minutes or less. Quality Restaurant Concepts of Fultondale is the franchisee for the Hoover location and will be opening a total of 26 locations across Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee.

“You can get a scratch-made, hand-crafted gourmet pizza, and have it cooked and in your hands in five minutes,” regional director Spencer Merrill said.

Pie Five’s pizza dough is made in-store every morning and there are gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian pizza options. Customers can choose from the restaurant’s specialty pizzas or make their own by choosing the crust, sauce and toppings. Every pizza is 10 inches across and costs $6.99 no matter the number of toppings. The store also serves $6.99 salads in a baked dough bowl that Merrill described as “a big crouton bowl.”

“Nobody’s ever seen this concept before here,” Merrill said. “We even make the dough in front of you.”

The store will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day and managed by Jeremy Berger. Merrill said other Pie Fives will be opening in the Birmingham area, but Quality Restaurant Concepts has not decided on locations or construction timelines.

Prior to Friday’s opening, the Pie Five held VIP events where half of their proceeds were donated to Big Oak Ranch Boys’ and Girls’ Home in Springville, Alabama.

There will be a formal grand opening Friday, Feb. 27 with food, prizes and the chance to win free pizza for a year. Local radio station 103.7 the Q will be providing a live remote broadcast from 6 to 8 p.m.
