A Hoover animal clinic is giving dog owners a chance to get pets a fresh bath while having fun as a family and supporting two nonprofits at the same time.

Patton Chapel Animal Clinic, 1665 Montgomery Highway, is hosting “Barks for Bubbles” on Saturday, July 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For a $10 donation to The Birmingham Zoo or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the clinic’s veterinary staff is offering baths for pets. No appointment is necessary.

Barks for Bubbles will also include an outdoor family fun zone, kids activities, food and an opportunity to meet with the staff at Patton Chapel Animal Clinic. The activities are free to the public.

Dr. Chase Whitworth, who manages the facility, said Patton Animal Clinic is excited to host its first community outreach event.

“Pets play a special role in families and we enjoy seeing our clients when they come in for services,” he said. “Barks for Bubbles is a special day in that we can interact more with clients and the community while providing needed funds to two causes close to us.  We realize how busy everyone is during the summertime and want to take the task of washing your pets off your hands.”

Serving the Hoover community since 1951, Patton Chapel Animal Clinic provides pet wellness services, boarding and grooming. For more information on Barks for Bubbles or the clinic, call
