Man arrested on multiple sex-related charges

A 38-year-old Hoover man has been arrested on multiple sex-related charges after reportedly molesting an underage family member, according to Hoover Police.

The case was first reported to police on Aug. 3 by a concerned citizen who had information about what was occurring, according to Capt. Gregg Rector with Hoover PD, and Brian Keith King Jr. was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 27. The victim was removed from the situation after police were notified, and has been in a safe environment.

“The [victim] was no longer in a position where she was going to be abused anymore,” Rector said. “We knew the kid was safe.”

After an investigation by Hoover detectives in the Special Victims Unit, the findings were presented to a Jefferson County Grand Jury and indictments were returned. King was charged with first degree rape, second degree rape, three counts first degree sodomy, three counts second degree sodomy, enticing a child for immoral purposes and incest.

King was arrested at his girlfriend’s residence at The Retreat at Rocky Ridge Apartments, transported to Hoover City Jail for processing and then taken to Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham. His total bond is $270,000.

“This is one of the most disgusting and disturbing cases that our detectives have seen in a while,” Rector said. “Brian King is a repulsive human being and he needs to be locked away. Just when we think we’ve seen it all, along comes someone like Brian King. Most importantly though, is that the victim is in good hands and she is being taken good care of.”
