Local fire stations to open as warming stations in response to cold weather

The National Weather Service has placed Hoover under a hard freeze warning for tonight in response to the expectation of the lowest temperatures so far this winter.

Several fire stations will stay open tonight to provide stations to residents needing a place to stay warm.

Station No. 1: 1953 Braddock Circle in Green Valley
Station No. 2: 1591 Patton Chapel Road near Gwin Elementary School
Station No. 3: 803 Riverchase Parkway West
Station No. 4: 800 Municipal Drive
Station No. 5: 588 Park Avenue in Bluff Park
Station No. 6: 310 Edna Road near Deer Valley
Station No. 7: 100 Inverness Center Parkway
Station No. 8: 121 Village Street in Greystone
Station No. 9: 1150 Legacy Drive in Greystone
