The LEGO Americana Roadshow is making a stop at Riverchase Galleria.

Replicas of United States landmarks made entirely from LEGO bricks will be on display throughout the Galleria from Aug. 22-Sept. 7. The Roadshow was set up overnight from Aug. 19-20, starting around 9 p.m. and continuing until past 4 a.m., said Galleria marketing manager Angela Jacks.

Models include the U.S. Capitol Building, White House, Supreme Court, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Statue of Liberty, Independence Hall and Old North Church. The Galleria is the only venue in Alabama to host the LEGO Americana Tour.

“Everybody is just in awe of these buildings,” Jacks said. “We were watching people while they were looking at the LEGOs.”

While the buildings and information are already set up, Jacks said other activities – such as scavenger hunts and giveaways – won’t start until the weekend. In the scavenger hunt, participants receive a two-sided map with questions about the buildings. After answering the questions, they can take the map to LEGO and receive a poster. There is also a play area where kids can build their own creations. Although they cannot take home their builds, workers with LEGO can help put them in display cases for others to see throughout the roadshow.

Anyone hoping to take home a build can stop by on Aug. 29 and Aug. 30 to build their own replica of LEGO Independence Hall. While supplies last, visitors can stop by Center Court from noon to 4 p.m. to build and take home a mini version of the building.

“You cannot buy this anywhere,” Jacks said. “You get it here and that’s it.”
