Lane closures on I-459 this weekend

The Alabama Department of Transportation is encouraging those planning to use I-459 northbound over Little Shades Creek between mile marker 14 and 16 to consider using alternate routes this weekend.

Starting Friday at 8 p.m., weather permitting, ALDOT will begin repairs on the bridge over Little Shades Creek.

The repair work will require the closure of the left two lanes and the left shoulder through Saturday.

At 8 p.m. Saturday, the closure should be reduced to only the far left lane and the left shoulder.

All lanes of traffic are expected to be reopen  no later than 5 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 26.
