Knife-wielding man robs Lorna Road convenience store

A man wielding a knife and dressed in all black robbed the Circle K/BP convenience store on Lorna Road early Tuesday morning, Hoover police said.

The man entered the store at 3421 Lorna Road about 1:45 a.m., demanded money from the clerk and, after a brief struggle, left with an undetermined amount of money, police said in a news release.

When he left, he headed in the direction of the Walmart Neighborhood Market and Lorna Place Apartments, police said. The store clerk received a small cut to his hand but did not require medical attention, police said.

Surveillance cameras captured an image of the suspect. Police ask anyone with information about this case to contact Detective Daniel Lowe at 739-6762. Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward can call Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama at 254-7777.
