Hoover Library’s re-opening delayed

Hoover Public Library’s makeover reveal has been delayed.

Renovations at the library started Aug. 3, and the library was scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The re-opening has been delayed until Saturday, Sept. 12.

While the library has operated with limited services throughout the renovation, it will be closed starting Sept. 3. and remain closed until Saturday to complete the project and train staff.

The makeover includes an updated color scheme, new carpet and updated computer carrels. The children’s area is also receiving new colorful and child-sized furniture.

“The library is very excited about the fresh new look that we will have when the project is completed,” said Patricia Guarino, assistant director and the library’s project manager for the project, in a former Hoover Sun article.
