Hoover council reads proclamation for National Disability Awareness Month

Tonight, the city council read several proclamations. The first was for National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Held each October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month is a national campaign that raises awareness about disability employment issues and celebrates the many and varied contributions of America's workers with disabilities. The theme for 2014 is "Expect. Employ. Empower."

The second proclamation was the Jumpstart's Read for the Record Day. Jumpstart is a national early education organization that recruits and trains college students and community Corps members to serve preschool children in low-income neighborhoods.
