During tonight's meeting, the City Council heard more concerns about Hoover City Schools rezoning.

One resident voiced concerns about students being removed from Gwin Elementary School while another resident asked if the city council had any plans to meet with the Board of Education before a final decision was made.

"We are closely following the situation," Councilman John Natter said. "We are interested in how these plans will affect our city."

Councilman John Greene echoed Natter's statement and Council President Jack Wright announced that the city cannot legally interfere with decisions made by the Board of Education.

The Board of Education is scheduled to meet Monday, Sep. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at Hoover High School where Superintendent Andy Craig is set present a final draft of the rezoning proposal. For more information on rezoning in Hoover City Schools, click here.
