Hoover Chamber of Commerce awards Lila Parks Scholarship

The Hoover Chamber of Commerce awarded four Hoover High School alumni the Lila Parks Scholarship on May 16.

Eligible applicants for this scholarship are required to be from Hoover, be a member of the Chamber/be a city employee, or have a parent who fills either of those roles. Applicants must be planning to attend a four-year college within the state of Alabama.

Scholarship recipients were:

Steven Greer

• University attending: University of North Alabama
• Potential major: Information Technology and Entertainment Technology
• High school involvement: Team Up for St. Jude’s volunteer, Hoover High School Band

Anna Hartmann

• University attending: University of Alabama at Birmingham
• Potential major: Marketing
• High school involvement: Hoover High Schools Color Guard, Diamond Dolls

Anastasiya Naydonova

• University attending: University of Alabama
• Potential major: Economics
• High school involvement: Hoover High School Cross Country and Track

Catherine Harris

• Current university: University of Alabama
• Potential major: General Health Studies
• College involvement: Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, Secretary of the Pre-Physician’s Assistant Society
