Homicide suspect in custody

Homicide suspect Jeffery Dewayne Mixon has been taken into custody following his surrender at the Dallas County Jail.

Mixon is a suspect in a domestic homicide that occurred at the Cypress Gardens Apartments on the morning of Jan. 5. Mixon was thought to have had his 5-year-old daughter with him, but his daughter has since been located at the home of relatives in Plantersville.
