Police are still looking for leads on a suspect in the murder of Xavier Beasley.

Beasley was shot and killed on Sept. 5 as he left work at the Home Depot on U.S. 280 in Hoover. Gov. Robert Bentley's Office is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for Beasley's death.

Beasley got off work at 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 5 and was walking to his vehicle when a man appeared with a gun and started firing at him, Hoover police Capt. Gregg Rector said.

There was no robbery attempt, and no words were exchanged prior to shots being fired, Rector said. A nearby witness ran back into the store and called 911. Beasley suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene by Hoover paramedics.

Anyone with information related to the crime can contact Sgt. Keith Czeskleba with Hoover PD at 739-6795 or 822-5300.
