Free document shredding offered Thursday at Hoover Public Library

Are you ready to get rid of some of that old paperwork taking up storage space at your house, but you don’t want to just throw it out with the trash?

The city of Hoover, in conjunction with ARMA (Association of Records Managers and Administrators) International and Vital Records Control, is offering Hoover Shred Day on Thursday at the Hoover Public Library.

People can bring up to two boxes or two 13-gallon bags of documents to the Hoover Public Library parking lot between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The documents will be shredded for free.

Erin Colbaugh, the city of Hoover’s events coordinator, said the city gets a lot of calls from people asking about free shredding days. The Hoover Public Library is at 200 Municipal Drive. For more information, contact Colbaugh at 444-7732.
