Hoover’s city election is fast approaching.

Voters go to the polls Tuesday to make their choice for Hoover mayor and seven Hoover City Council seats.

Here’s the latest happenings related to the election:

Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23. There are 13 polling places in Hoover. The Hoover City Clerk’s Office mailed out postcards to registered voters, indicating where they are to vote. The last day to register to vote was Aug. 8. Photo identification is required at the polls. Voters with questions can call the clerk’s office at 444-7500.

A runoff election, should it be required, will be held Oct. 4. Elected officials will take office Nov. 7.
