Christian Cooper, a 25-year-old Hoover man who suffered burns over 80 percent of his body in a fiery crash on Interstate 65 in February, is holding a Halloween bash this weekend to raise money for organizations that helped him.

The Courage4Cooper event is being held at Workplay in downtown Birmingham Saturday night and will include music by two bands (Sheriff and Audio Sketch) and food by Five Star Event Catering. With Halloween only two days later, costumes are strongly encouraged.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the music starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased on the Workplay website.

The event will benefit:

These organizations and their supporters not only were instrumental in Cooper’s survival; their continued focus supports first responders, improved burn treatments and expanded support for burn victims and their families, said Erin Helton, Cooper’s sister.
