Burglar arrested after business owner watches him on video surveillance
On March 23 at 9 p.m. Hoover Patrol officers responded to a burglary in progress at a business located at 118 Little Valley Court.
The owner of Innovative Surfaces, who was monitoring his security surveillance system, was watching a former employee burglarize his business. The owner was able to provide responding officers the name of the suspect and his vehicle description.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on Valleydale Road near I-65 and took the suspect into custody. Construction equipment stolen during the burglary was recovered. A warrant was obtained from the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office and the suspect is charged as follows:
Sandro Fernandes Da-Silva, 35, Chelsea
- Burglary 3rd degree, $10,000 bond
Da-Silva was transferred from the Hoover City Jail to the Shelby County Jail at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25.
