2016 Thanksgiving holiday closing schedule for public buildings, services in Hoover

Most public agencies and buildings in Hoover will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday, but the Hoover Recreation Center will be open Friday.

Rec Center hours on Friday will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Hoover Public Library is closing early (at 6 p.m.) on Wednesday and will reopen for normal business at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Garbage pickup for Hoover residents will be delayed one day at the end of this week. Normal Thursday garbage pickup will take place on Friday, and normal Friday pickup will take place on Saturday, according to the Hoover Public Works Department.

Hoover schools and Hoover City Schools offices are closed all week this week.

Other buildings closed Thursday and Friday include the Hoover Municipal Center, Hoover Public Safety Center, other city offices, Hoover Senior Center, Jefferson and Shelby County offices (including the Jefferson County Revenue Office in Green Valley and Shelby County License Office in Inverness), and the Alabama Department of Revenue Taxpayer Service Center at the Hoover Public Safety Center.
