A 19-year-old Jefferson County man has been charged with rape and three counts of robbery and burglary in connection with three apartment invasions in Hoover Thursday night.

Police say 19-year-old Anthony Marques Pittman forced his way into a Hoover woman’s apartment in the 1500 building at the Park at Galleria complex Thursday night with a pistol, raped her and took her money and cell phone.

The woman reported the incident at 9:44 p.m., and while police were speaking with her, a second robbery took place in the 1600 building of the same apartment complex. In that instance, the robber also took money and a cell phone, police said.

A third robbery was reported at 10:05 p.m. in the 4300 building of the Park at Hoover apartment complex. In the third robbery, the suspect took a video game console, cash and a laptop computer.

In all three cases, the victims said they answered a knock at the door and found a man with a pistol and wearing a grey hoodie and a red bandana.

Hoover police said they found Pittman hiding in a vacant apartment in the 5000 building of the Park at Hoover apartment complex and took him into custody. He was wearing a grey hoodie and had a red bandana and a pistol, as well as stolen property from all three victims, police said. Also, each victim was able to positively identify him as their robber, police said.

Pittman was taken to the Hoover Jail and was being held on bonds totaling $700,000.
