Crest Cadillac Golf Classic a success

Riverchase Women’s Club and Hoover-Metro Kiwanis Club welcomed 96 golfers to the 21st annual Crest Cadillac Golf Classic on April 15.

Volunteers assisted the players at registration, sold mulligans and power drives, manned the drinks cart, watched for the illusive hole-in-one, served snacks from Jim & Nicks, and generally made the players welcome.  Many groups, companies, and individuals were honored to assist in this event benefitting SafeHouse andother charities.

The low gross first place winners were Robert Altman, Mike Hays, Jim Brown and David Glidewell. In second place were Don Bratcher, Charlie Jones, Eric Messer and Richard Mathews, and in third place Greg Grey, Scott Johnson, Scott Grey and Shanelle Johnson.  Shanelle Johnson won the prize for “Closest to the Pin.”

The low net first place winners were Joe Everly, Jeff Ireland, Matt Pears and Oscar Kent.  In second place was Keith Strickland, Tim Westhoven, Allen Pate and Josh Niblett, and in third place Clark Raymond, John Massey Keith Czeskleba and Norm McDuffey.  Matt Sterley scored the longest drive of the day.

A drawing was held for donated prizes, and Dale Boehm held winning tickets for the $500 Belk card and for four rounds of golf with cart at Bent Brook Golf.  Other winners took home sports equipment, television sets, and other valuable gifts.
