On Tap Sports Cafe reopens at Galleria

On Tap Sports Cafe has relocated within Riverchase Galleria. The bar has moved to a 6,000-square-foot space at 3340 Galleria Circle, near its former 4,600-square-foot location.

Brailyn Hardy, a representative for On Tap, said the move was prompted by the desire for a bigger kitchen and the ability to offer more craft beers. The extra kitchen space gives owners Craig and Elaine Beegle a laboratory for new dishes as part of "a rotating menu of new and exciting items such as stuffed burgers, hot dog fries and baked marinara wings.” Hardy said. 

The new location has a wall of 100 kegs of beer on tap, which Hardy said was the largest in the state. On Tap also has two craft wines and two or three craft liquors available, as well as 35 televisions and patio seating.

The interior is designed with wood and brick for a warm, comfortable feel, Hardy said. The new location also has a more open floor plan and more windows, and she said the dining and bar areas will provide completely different customer experiences. The Beegles have also used their love of antiques to decorate the restaurant.

“Every piece on the wall has a story behind it,” Hardy said.

Construction on the new space lasted five months. The opening was announced on June 24, but Hardy said the staff has had a few weeks in the kitchen already to get used to the new layout.

Galleria marketing manager Angela Jacks said a new tenant has not been found for the former On Tap location, but the mall is seeking one. She noted that more tenants throughout the mall could be announced in the coming weeks as final leases are signed.
