The new Chick-fil-A at the Grove in Hoover has set its opening date for Oct. 6.

The first 100 people to get in the doors will receive free Chick-Fil- A for a year. Operator Jeffrey Foster suspects people will camp out to secure their prize and customers are permitted to do so starting the morning of Oct. 5. Corporate employees will be out all day Wednesday feeding the campers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, there will be games, a DJ and more surprises for the campers.

There will also be an invite-only event on Oct. 3 where people can come eat before the opening. Foster is excited to get this new restaurant open and running in the community of Hoover. He is hoping they will be able to get involved in all aspects of the community including nonprofits, schools and more.

“We are so blessed that the owners/operators live in the community of their Chick-Fil- A and are in the restaurants everyday,” Foster said. “Being able to have that local ownership, I am able to get involved in everything in the community because I live here and this is my home. I will definitely be involved in everything going on.”

This location will provide around 100 new jobs. Foster said they typically hire a lot of high school and college students because they want to help work around their schedules and know that there is more to their life than their job.

“Chick-fil-A hires workers knowing that 80 percent of the team is moving on down the road to something brighter,” Foster said. “We want to help them achieve all of their goals.”

Foster said his new Chick-Fil- A will live by the ideals of honor, dignity and respect.

“As the owner myself I am here everyday so I get to set the example”, Foster said. “People love being around people who are happy going to work and who are always smiling.”
