Renaissance Ross Bridge chef, manager win hospitality awards

The executive chef and general manager of Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa recently took top honors at the Alabama Restaurant & Hospitality Alliance's annual Stars of the Industry Awards.

General Manager Rick Smith won Hotelier of the Year at the Sept. 28 ceremony. Smith has been with Renaissance since July 2013, but he has worked in the hospitality industry for more than three decades.

Executive Chef Robert Kamm won Chef of the Year. He joined Renaissance when it first opened in 2005 and has trained with master and Michelin-rated chefs.

The Alabama Restaurant & Hospitality Alliance has 1,200 member companies and properties in the hospitality industry, and Stars of the Industry recognizes the top performers in the state each year.
