Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry coming to Dick's Sporting Goods in Hoover Saturday

Former Alabama running back and Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry is scheduled to appear at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Hoover’s Patton Creek shopping center Saturday to help kick off the 2016 college football season.

The first 75 guests in line for the 11 a.m. “Tailgate Divided” event will receive wristbands to have a photo opportunity with Henry, and the first 64 guests in line will qualify to play in a bean bag toss tournament, with the champion squaring off against Henry at the conclusion of the tournament.

Henry was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2016 National Football League draft.

There will be drawings for prizes every 15 minutes beginning at 11:30 a.m., including items autographed by Henry, Dick’s gift cards, canopies, chairs and other tailgating items.

The Legendary Shots trick basketball shot group from Hoover also is scheduled to be present. The event is scheduled to end at 3 p.m.
