Registration began this week for Hoover Youth Lacrosse Organization’s spring season, and those youngsters who may have an interest in lacrosse but have never played the sport are invited to Hoover Lacrosse Day on Sunday, Oct. 25, at the fields at the old Berry High School on Columbiana Road.
There is no admission charge. Boys and girls ages 7-15 are invited to participate in clinics in which they will learn the basic skill of lacrosse. These clinics are taught by some of the Hoover high school coaches as well as top players within the community. Sunday’s event will also give them the opportunity to ask any questions they might have regarding the sport and the spring season.
There will be door prizes, raffles and a speed shooting contest where youngsters can see how fast they can shoot the ball into the goal.
Registration closes Dec. 15 for the spring season. For more information, go to http://hylolax.org.
