The Hoover boys and girls basketball teams notched key Class 7A, Area 5, road wins on Tuesday night over Tuscaloosa County.
The boys team won a close battle, 50-47, in a contest tight from the tip to the final horn. The Bucs saw three players score in double figures in Kevy Eason, Jamari Blackmon, and Johnathan Postell. Eason pumped in 18 points on five three-point makes. Blackmon added 12 with Postell chipping in ten points.
The victory gives Hoover the opportunity to win the area in a game against Oak Mountain on Friday.
The Lady Bucs jumped out to a 14-7 lead in the first quarter, and won easily, 54-43.
Kendra Langham led Hoover with 15 points. Jailyn Maddox scored 14.
