Hoover police officers arrested a 15-year-old male suspect in the assault of a 7-year-old girl.
Officers arrived at Patton Creek Condominiums at 9:49 p.m. on Sunday, July 12. Kids were playing outdoors when a male teenage resident approached them. The suspect convinced the kids to go with him to a vacant condo and assaulted one of the children, according to Hoover PD.
After the victim notified her parents, patrol officers came to the complex and found the suspect. He was arrested and taken to Hoover City Jail and later transferred to the Jefferson County Youth Detention Center after 2 a.m. on July 13.
The suspect will be kept in custody at the Youth Detention Facility, pending court hearings.
