A 23-year-old suspect was arrested Thursday for the theft of a bank bag early last week.
On Feb. 9 at 9:30 a.m. a female victim was preparing to make a deposit at Wells Fargo Bank on John Hawkins Parkway. After accidentally locking her keys inside her vehicle, she placed the bag containing $500 on her windshield. An unknown suspect ran towards the victim’s car, grabbed the bank bag and fled on foot. While grabbing the bank bag, the suspect unknowingly dropped his wallet on the ground next to the victim’s car. The wallet contained an Alabama Driver’s license belonging to the suspect. A warrant was obtained and the suspect is charged as follows:

- Theft of Property 1st degree: $15,000 bond
Williams was arrested Thursday by the Birmingham Police Department Crime Reduction Team at an apartment on 17th Street Southwest. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail at 3 p.m. and posted bond last night at 11:30 p.m.
