Alford Avenue exit ramp closed during I-65 repairs

Concrete pavement repairs to I-65 may affect Hoover drivers this weekend.

Starting around 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, ALDOT is making repairs to the outside two lanes of I-65 South.

The repairs require the exit ramp from I-65 S to Alford Avenue – exit 254 – to be closed while workers are in the roadway. The ramp will be reopened as soon as concrete repairs have been completed, which should be by noon on Saturday.

The southbound entrance ramp from Alford Avenue, however, will remain open at all times.

All lanes should be reopened by midnight on Sunday, weather permitting. If they do not open on Sunday, ALDOT reports lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 17.
