Q: What services does Southlake Orthopaedics offer?
A: We provide comprehensive care options for every musculoskeletal domain. Many of our surgeons and physicians are fellowship trained in their orthopaedic subspecialty to include hand and wrist, foot and ankle, spine, non-operative sports medicine, and physical medicine and rehabilitation, as well as ancillary services to include physical and occupational therapy, diagnostic imaging, and orthotics and prosthetics.
We also have an after-hours urgent care clinic for acute or emergent injuries that is staffed by Physician Assistants who have immediate access to our team of orthopaedic surgeons.
Q: Why is it better to use your after-hours clinic rather than an emergency department?
A: One of the biggest complaints patients have is the wait time in emergency rooms. No matter where the injury is, our urgent care can get the patients in, have them X-rayed in a timely manner, complete an evaluation and fast track a plan of treatment as opposed to several hours in an emergency room to be told to follow-up with an orthopaedic physician.
Q: Is there any advice that you have for preventing acute injury this spring?
A: The warmer weather in the Southeastern United States does lend to people participating in more aggressive sports where acute injuries can occur. Our recommendation is to always warm up and be safe when undertaking any new activities and we stand ready to assist when accidents or injuries occur.
Q: What philosophy do you and the physicians at Southlake stand by?
A: It is our goal to provide personalized, quality of care utilizing the most advanced technology available. Honorable behavior is our standard.
