This year marks 21 years in business for Signature Homes, which continues to produce high-quality homes with cutting-edge designs in the Birmingham area.
According to their website, Signature Homes has a passion for creating communities where people enjoy their lives, grow their families and build lasting relationships. Between the classic architecture, designer selections and customized floor plans, Signature Homes “design homes for real life and construct for the long run.”
“We attribute our success to intense market research, which provides homes for our customers that are based on what the customer desires in their homes,” said Signature Homes CEO Dwight Sandlin. “This means that we are constantly monitoring the latest trends and changing our plans to accommodate our customers’ aspirations.
“Armed with market research, we spend a great deal of time developing communities that are inviting and impressive with pools and clubhouses, running trails, pocket parks and even wiffle ball fields,” he continued. “The objective is to have a cohesive community that invites people to enjoy the neighborhood and make friends with their neighbors.
“Last year, we embarked on the ‘39 Project’,” Sandlin said. “The idea is that when a prospective customer walks in through the front door, we have 3 seconds or nine steps to blow them away with an impressive look unlike any other builder. While Signature is not a ‘custom’ builder, the options and designs are planned so that our homes have a custom feel.”
Sandlin adds that Signature Homes has learned through the years that customer satisfaction is not simply derived from the ‘bricks and sticks’, but on the experience the customer has with the build process.
“To that end, we have created positions in each of our communities with New Home Consultants,” Sandlin said. “These folks act as a concierge to our customers helping them design their homes and take them through the home building process. We are very proud to have a 50% referral rate, which is one of the highest in the country for a high volume sales builder.
“We are aggressively involved with service to our community by building parks for cities and contribute to local schools and socially responsible organizations,” Sandlin said. “We are particularly proud that we have built numerous homes for St. Jude, which created over $8,000,000 to one of the finest organizations helping children with cancer and their families at no cost to the family of the child.”
Sandlin and co-founding partner Jonathan Belcher founded Signature Homes in 1999. Both Sandlin and Belcher are Birmingham residents who share a passion for creating new communities for people to enjoy and connect.
“Our staff consists of people who are passionate about customer satisfaction and the homebuilding business,” Sandlin said. “We realize that what we do improves the lives of our customers as well as future buyers of our homes, which in turn, will improve lives for decades to come. We think what we do matters.”
