Q: What types of injuries do you treat at OS1?
A: We see everyone from busy, sports-minded families to senior adults trying to stay active. If you need care for an acute, sports-related or orthopedic injury — a fracture, sprain, dislocation, overuse injury or sports concussion, or chronic conditions like osteoarthritis — you can come see us and skip the expensive hospital ER visit and receive specialized care on your schedule.
Q: Do I need an appointment?
A: At OS1 Sports Injury Clinic, there is unmatched walk-in access to a fellowship-trained sports medicine professional. We offer extended hours (weekdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends from 1-6 p.m.). In many cases, people seem to think the pain of getting an appointment, navigating a large medical complex and being seen is greater than the pain they are dealing with daily. We make it easy!
Q: Are your sports medicine providers ready to treat a major injury?
A: Yes, both of our sports medicine providers are very accustomed to treating patients in dire, urgent situations. Our clinic has a fellowship-trained sports medicine physician, Dr. Chris Williams, at the helm.
Dr. Williams is a graduate of the world-renowned Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center Fellowship Program. Dr. Williams has worked in multiple emergency departments and has experience dealing with traumatic injuries and extensive training in the non-surgical management of sports-related and non-sports-related injuries.
Nurse practitioner Bryan Wimbish also brings extensive experience. Bryan is a board-certified family and emergency room nurse practitioner with sports medicine training. He has years of ortho urgent care experience and worked six years in the ER as a registered nurse. Our providers are also able to assist in finding and scheduling a surgeon if needed.
Q: How does your onsite extremity MRI make the patient experience even better?
A: Our MRI is specifically built to provide images for hands, wrists and elbows, along with feet, ankles and knees. It is an open setting that is more like sitting in a lounge chair. You don’t deal with the claustrophobic issues or loud noises people think of with a traditional MRI.
We want to provide the best diagnosis possible in the most expedient manner. Having on-site MRI, digital X-ray and ultrasound make imaging much more convenient.
Q: What if I’ve got a minor injury that’s been bothering me for a while? Should I come to OS1?
A: Yes! We strongly believe musculoskeletal injuries or pain shouldn’t go untreated. OS1 is a much safer alternative than the ER or general urgent care because we are focused on only treating orthopedic issues, so you aren’t exposed to the illnesses, colds and viruses of ERs and primary care offices.
Q: Are there any other services OS1 Sports Injury Clinic provides?
A: We offer services such as ultrasound-guided injections to treat acute and chronic pain. Ultrasound-guided injections are more accurate, effective and typically less painful than blind injections.
We offer a wide variety of options, including PRP (Platelet-rich Plasma), which uses your own healing system to improve musculoskeletal problems, and hyaluronic acid, a natural lubricant that helps reduce joint pain.
